Your Voice is Like Rain Now
your voice is like rain now misty drips and droplets falling on a far watercolor garden pinks running into blues happy notes in yellow rivulets flowers looking out with hazel eyes little wet bees and butterflies wandering, tasting here and there do you have birds where you are? the tiny wise ones that chirp in the morning do you sing to them as you sang to me before I fell asleep?

Blurry Fluttering
on the shelf by the window a picture of you in a place I’ll call heaven playing piano in a garden next to it, your aftershave opened briefly and only on special occasions and lots of angels left and right, just in case, though neither of us believe a small photograph of us when I was two you are directing my attention to the camera then, and even now you are encouraging me to smile was that you just now, in the window? or was it only the blurry fluttering of peripheral birds? first, the sound of muffled flight then, the hollow silence of empty air

Gone to the Angels
in the drawer so many pictures of ghosts their heads and bodies crowding together to fit into the frame I can hear their voices painting the room with life hear the camera click see the all too brief white flash of light illuminating their skin every one of them now gone to the angels striking a pose elsewhere stars lighting up their eyes
