Bio Note: I am an old man, currently living retirement in Riderwood, a hundred acre senior village outside Washington DC, with my wife of 58 years. I write poetry during morning meditations on a bench by a pond with time off to greet passers-by with a cheerful good morning. I had a Federal Government career mostly with EPA, earned a doctorate from Catholic U in Chemistry, and was born in Louisville, KY. I am eager to share my poetry. Already I have published 52 poems.
Anthrologist
Maurice told us of a BBC documentary featuring Rhod Gilbert a Scottish standup and the word anthrologist a gynecologist for men of which there are relatively few and why should that be since men account for half the world’s infertility problems I found it on YouTube and now ponder whether I want to spend the time give over my attention in this age of overload and that’s what sent me wondering about the whole attention giving thing listen to another person speak which is a social thing the whole purpose of language after all where some tell a story better than others giving rise to itinerant minstrels Greek drama the court jester Shakespeare writing lines for professional actors to announce telling stories full of sound and fury significant sometimes and worth giving attention like a male defect that dare not speak its name
