Bio Note: I live in Knoxville, Tennessee. I love all things outdoors, especially a good bonfire. I am a registered nurse, working on a medical surgical floor, at a Level 1 trauma hospital, who loves poetry. I am currently working on a chapbook and a collection of my work.
Obsession
Concepts running though your mind with different scenarios and different outcomes playing over and over like a record skipping on a record player in an empty vintage-looking room no one around to raise the needle No clock or calendar Just a guess of the season Spinning Echoing down a long hallway Sound getting lower and lower until a ringing in your ear is the only sound you hear Never quite going away until it starts all over again even louder
As my World is Sleeping
I can sit on the patio listen to the morning sounds and watch the steam come off my coffee Clearing my mind of clutter I focus in on what I would like to accomplish I watch a mother bird as she takes what appears to be breakfast to her nest One that was made in an old helmet on my top shelf amid the water blasters and bubble blowers I wonder if she ever gets a quite moment when her babies are asleep One to herself where she can ponder on the day ahead Lost in my thought my world abruptly wakes as I hear a small voice calling my name
