Bio Note: I live in Virginia and teach reading in an elementary school. I am a hobby poet, mixed media artist and mother of two young children, one of which has special medical needs. My poetry has been published in Failed Haiku and Eunoia Review.
Company For The Unfinished
the refrigerator hums
but the noises of the living—
throat-clearing
nasal breathing
bed sheets shifting—
are silenced by nature
how awful to view death
in its last living place:
a bed and nightstand
readers and a glass
a receipt placed two-thirds in
to an unfinished book
of which he will never know
the ending.
