Bio Note: I've been writing poems since high school but in retirement have more time to "follow my bliss." I've served in the Peace Corps in Malaysia, taught in British Columbia, NYC, and Dorchester. I've travelled to eighteen countries. Poems keep my heart pumping.
The Cradle of the Deep
For Two Lost Navy Seals, January, 2024 Weep no more, my lady for your man has gone away into black depths of the seas where the whales will sing him to sleep, their lullabies pealing across the miles from the bells of all the ships that have ever sunk, rocking him forever in the cradle of the deep. Weep no more, my lady, for waves still lap upon the shore, sandpipers peck and leap while winter winds heap piles of foam like snow upon the briny beach, never out of reach in your heart, your love is rocking there and in the cradle of the deep.
