Bio Note: I am a retired English and creative writing teacher from Doylestown, PA. Every morning, Jax, my Brittany spaniel and I take our two mile walk. I have been writing and publishing poetry since 1972. I have published five books of poetry: Parallels, Coming Out Of The Atlantic, Electronic Forecasts, Wildflower Women as well as my poetry baseball book, Ball On The Mound. My next book of published poems, Pilfered Circadian Rhythm is scheduled for publication later this year.
Visceral Reaction
I kiss you
because you keep
twirling your index
finger
around your
flowing flame auburn
hair
and
you lean close to me
when I speak
even though
the restaurant ambiance
is serene
and to my surprise,
your Merlot lips
reciprocate.
