Bio Note: I am a storyteller, poet, photographer and performer. As a member of the Performance Poets Association (PPA) I have read extensively throughout the NYC metro area, being featured numerous times at PPA events and the Phoenix Poetry Series in Greenwich Village. I am a member of Calling All Poets in the Hudson valley and a monthly reader at Lit Lit in Beacon, NY. My work has been published in PPA Literary Reviews, the Tamarind Review and has aired on WRHU (Hofstra University) radio.
Cognitive Matters
As I age I have difficulty remembering some, not all, significant events from my past. Some things in whole…some in part. I remember my father’s passing but not the date. My Mom’s death was on July 14, Bastille Day. My sister and I pushed the cremation button together…I remember. I have, however, forgotten much of my life. Important matters too. Leaving space for the new. But the antithesis also holds true. Some memories linger forever. And I have lasting issues with some. One in particular… Visits me upon occasion— Black velvet…with a trace of soft perfume.
