Bio Note: Hi, my name is Carol I live in a beautiful valley in Southern California with my husband and three dogs. I love to read, paint and write. A few poems have appeared in various journal, online groups and anthologies. I am fairly new to writing poetry.
The Drumming Song
The restless passion of a divine connection, beating out sounds to a changing world. Explore the deep poignant meaning of the drums call to the spirit world. There is no rehearsed intent There is no stumbling reverberation, only a constant staccato beat of a playing drum. Connecting to the universe , removing obstacles, let the people of the past call to you from the echoing drum.
Growing Old
Blue emptiness of an addled mind I gather memories strained through a rope sieve. There are no rose colored memories only crystal shards of broken glass. I am stuck in the middle of a nightmare. Casting nets to hold on to dreams. Rowing in a circle never altering the path. Fishing in the worn out lake of reminiscences. I shall row a different boat to a new trajectory far from the neighborhood of sorrow.
