Bio Note: I had a phobia about personifying nature and material things for many years. I thought that it made me vulnerable to ridicule from readers who find personification to be anti-scientific or irrational. Thankfully, after a few years of writing and publishing poems, I realized that poetry is all about my personal truths, not about putting on a false face in order to fit in. I'm glad because so often my inspiration comes from a strong sense of communion with the outside world.
Love Poem for Morning Light
You yellow the birch leaves outside my window, inch inside, become a golden rectangle on the braided rug, travel across the room, halo the wood stacked by the fireplace. Every morning, you make me want to live here. You show me the possibility of change.
