Bio Note: I have been writing of incense, peppermints, and the color of time since before Strawberry Alarm Clock coined that phrase. I have been in various publications including The Journal of Formal Poetry, International Poetry Review, and the Galway Review, and have authored eight print books/chapbooks including Absurd (Cajun Mutt Press) and thirteen eBooks.
Limb
I ventured out on a limb for what I thought I believed in. The limb broke under the weight of my hopes and expectations. Beliefs lay scattered on the ground, like fallen leaves and broken bits of branch. I picked myself up, and picked up the beliefs that survived the fall.
Evergreens
Their marriage was a painting without a frame. Desire called their names until telepathy exercised authenticity. They found that leeches love blood, blood loves mirrors, and mirrors love symmetry and debts must be paid to the body’s memory and the geography of dreams led to the desertion of wilderness where their bodies don’t pretend to be gods, but instead, unrepentant evergreens.
