It is not time to press “send.” It is time to breathe back every green-glow word I've tapped into inky night. Every red message. Every yellow yarn. Every blue note bellowed over 12 bar pulse. Lightning bugs glimmer dim codes that spill into pillows of lake dam clay. Wink out “goodnight.” Wink “out.” “Wink.”
I Heed Wendell Berry’s Advice on How to Poem
Into the wind at water’s edge, exhale each breath through silence. Along the path of scattered leaves, chart new maps for silence. Over the whine of faraway roads, hum harmonies with silence. Under the crest of white caps, plunge deep inside blue silence. Against all gusts that sputter alarm, lean into shelter of silence. Onto pages my little words string, bead patterned prayers to silence.
