Author's Note: I find peace in the noisy places—even more than in quiet—noisy loving times with friends and family. And that has been true since childhood. The unconditional love of my grandma which gave me the confidence that allowed me to think I could do anything and that still brings peace whenever I think of her.
Peace: Where I Find It
I do breathe more calmly in dawn’s glow views of the sea on starry nights alone or in company but for me, true peace does not come in the still of the night or the silent scenes of beauty dawn offers. I find peace with friends, chattering, remembering, regaling. Peace comes to me in a goodnight kiss shared with my beloved husband who stretches across the bed to reach me. Peace, for me is a noisy construct, I find it in a child’s laughter, contented moments— when my inner voices can swim, can relax in a pool of joy, of noisy, messy, everyday love.
