Bio Note: I recently began writing poetry at nearly age 65, after concluding a long career as a business attorney. But my interest in poetry arose more than fifty years earlier, from reading the work of Langston Hughes and studying the lyrics of Simon & Garfunkel songs in junior high school. My poems have appeared in The Lyric Magazine, Lighten Up Online, and Grand Little Things, in addition to Verse-Virtual and other print and online journals.
If I Would Meet
If I would meet a person Who approves of all I do, And agrees with my decisions, Who likes all of my ideas, Understands my every feeling, Laughs routinely at my jokes, While admiring all I say, Yes, if I would meet someone like that, I wonder what I’d think of them?
Flourishing
His life has been a sandy beach, On which disappointments have come in waves. Tall, thrashing waves. But they didn’t cover the entire beach, Like the sun has.
