Bio Note: I am a poet and painter who lives and writes in Southern California. I have been retired a number of years from a long career in cosmetology. I am a visual artist of many years. I now use words to paint the world around me. . My work has appeared in ‘The Poet’ anthologies, ‘Sweetycat Press anthologies’, and a few online journals and blogs. I hope to publish a book of poetry one day.
Lost Forever
Buttery streaks of warmth spread across peeling walls. Shelves of unread books hold the dust of passing time. Chairs dented with ghostly imprints left behind speak of unshared conversations. An open window of escape lets the soft breezes stir the moment. Leaves of the spent autumn fall on smooth floored planks only to find refuge in a corner. There is no laughter There is no crying The sounds of life plunged out the window to the silence of death. Drifting forever in spectral reality from window to window Searching for the lost forever.
Night Visitors
Ghostly specters, visit the sub conscience. What messages are they trying to impart? Are they still on the Bardo train waiting for their next stop? They slide in and out choosing where to disembark. It is a whole other transition. A continuation of the previous life. A place to right the wrongs. A place to gather knowledge. A place to try again. My waking hours honor their being. My sleeping hours honor their essence I rejoice in their presence.
