This Winter Day
눈 (noon) The clouds are piled up like a train wreck across the sky, and tongues of rain freeze before they hit the ground. Back inside the house, you stir the soup and spoon out rice into celadon bowls. You look up as I come in the door. You told me once the word for snow in Korean is the same as the word for eye. Outside the world is turning white; I imagine being lost in a blizzard with only the memory of your glance to guide me home.
