Bio Note: Getting older comes with loss of friends. The day after winter solstice, a good friend slipped away in hard blowing wind and a downpour. I attended her funeral on Zoom.

Learning to Read

twist the sounds
bitter seeds in my mouth
nothing makes sense, i can't read
a series of meanigless words stumbles out

bitter seeds in my mouth
i'm in the dummies group
a series of meanigless words stumbles out
an object of scorn to the teacher

in the lowest reading group for dummies
when suddenly something clicks
an object of scorn to the teacher
she doesn't notice my amazement

when suddenly something clicks
i twist the sounds
she doesn't notice my amazement
everything makes sense, i can read
