Author's Note: The old monk continues apace, as sassy as ever. You might wonder if these are poems. I do. Yet it's not my business to tell the old monk what's what, so this is what we get.
Three Poems from the Old Monk
When you're hired to walk down the street, you can't just walk down the street, the actor told the old monk. That's natural law, the old monk responded. You're supposed to actual natural when it's not. ~ Many of the conventions of poetry relate to our physical bodies, the old monk told the poet, our breath, the need to stamp our feet, our wanting to sing. ~ I find beauty in the squareness of one thing to another, the old monk admitted. ~
