Bio Note: I am retired, and have been married to my wife Michelle for 45 years. We lost our younger son Shaun last year to colon cancer and my book of poems about losing him will be published by Bamboo Dart Press on August 10, 2022. The book's name is Missing Shaun. Here are some poems from the book.

these days
exhaust us
we are worn

to the bone
stare out
through

vacant eyes
long for
human touch

and if we
have lost a
loved one

breathe in
our
loneliness

I can never

say goodbye
the mist

of your memory
is always
in the air

yet

tomorrow you
will not be here
again

so
just for practice
goodbye

just today I

mourn the death
of a star
as I watch
it blink out
long gone
before we
wrote our
first words
