Bio Note: I've written all my life, starting with poop and crayons on the walls, but didn't start writing and publishing poetry until last year, at age 67. I've published more than 100 poems, most often in Medusa's Kitchen, Lothlorien Poetry Journal, and Alien Buddha Zine. My chapbook, "My Father's Ghost Hates Cats," is available on Amazon, and my second, "The Big Unda" will be released this month.
U-Turn
You can legally U-turn on the Main Street bridge, return to chase your heart across the miles, speed-grieve under lampposts sprouting swaying flower baskets, watch twilight’s neckline plunge into lace camisoles of mist, re-boil those hard boiled eggs you couldn’t peel, return to hope that you can find a second chance.
Latte Ghost
Every time I stop for coffee, I see the ghost of you. Curtains move, no windows open, I shiver though the door is closed. A new barista serves up my latte. The ghost of you is in the foam. How could he know how much I miss you sitting here beside me?
