Bio Note: I have been writing of incense, peppermints, and the color of time since the 1970s. My eight published books range in style from Absurdism to Beat to formal to erasure.

That nebulous smile appears

That nebulous smile appears
again on your hard-pursed lips.
You leave me wondering if I know you
at all, or if you know me.
So let’s just bypass the formalities
and rely on the familiarities
at least for tonight, and then
leave all confusion for tomorrow
