Bio Note: I run Ambidextrous Bloodhound Press, which publishes Right Hand Pointing, One Sentence Poems, First Frost, Unbroken and Unlost Journal. In May 2021, the press will publish the first issue of first frost, a twice-a-year print journal of haiku and senryu. I am a clinical psychologist who survives in Alabama. I believe I may be the only psychologist/poet/licensed ham operator in North America.
I wish it could all be on one golden afternoon
in Illinois and Louisiana and Manchester and Paris and Rio and Mumbai ticker tape and music, a sailor kisses a woman in the middle of the street Hospital doors fly open and come now the weeping nurses to dance with their patients, the ones saved and the ones lost The sunlight cannot be bright enough to let us sort the living and the dead Grandparents kneel and beam while their children and grandchildren bound toward them, arms outstretched, masks falling to the streets
