Bio Note: I think I love the process of writing as much as I love cooking and eating…seems what I add, take out, spice up, simmer, let sit overnight possibly makes some interesting creations. Retired after working thirty years as a hospice RN, I now have the energy and time to write, travel, make, and taste new foods. Turning Plow Press published my Oklahoma-based poetry collection, Once Upon a Tar Creek Mining for Voices in 2021.
Upon Eating Sheep Cheese Dumplings and Tripe Soup
you were given infinite taste buds a capacity for an ever expanding universe why settle for the mundane? your stomach waits for exploding galaxies wake up! gulp the world savor everything
these biscuits and gravy
all heavy in my belly I eat because I am in Oklahoma and my sweet fried green tomato mama in a carbo-loaded gut lives through me on back roads home and safe
