Me and My Doppelganger Converse
She is pumpkin brain, gossamer flesh. I am mouth agape, tongue cherry Slurpee red. Ideas woven with flimsy threads. She is an emerald-eyed milkmaid, lovesick protagonist. I am the anime, the cheeks streaked with lemon-sour tears. She is smurf-like melancholy, Pepto Bismol pink. I am a citrus chapstick kiss, fruity gum bubble on the verge of popping. She is a flowering hedge, the glimmer in a cat’s eyes. I am childhood stains on an off-white canvas. The lukewarm air. She is the story of which I am the narrator.
