Bio Note: I am a retired psychiatrist in my late 80’s living in Brookline, MA with my wife. I am passionate about poetry, music, and running. My poems have been published in Scissortail Quarterly #4 and Sweetycat Press, as well as online sites.
A Well-Mixed Martini
I’ve always enjoyed a well-mixed martini, The gin and the vermouth in Proper proportions, Garnished with olives and a twist Of lemon or lime. I’m reminded of Nick and Nora Charles And their ’Thin Man’ adventures, So elegantly filmed. My own level of sophistication Doesn’t equal That era of the late thirties When high hats and Bugattis Hardly anticipated a century Of destruction and chaos.
