"Unexpected" seems to have been a good optional theme for December. Thanks for all the poems that took a turn left or right from where it seemed they were heading. Lots to like about the December issue.
You owe it to yourself to read Tad Richard's "Informal" column this month. Very informative and interesting. And of course, it would be cool if you emailed Tad to let him know what you liked about the column and his associated poems.
Thank you for all the behind the scenes emails you send to the poets in each issue. Kindness is never wasted.
My career as a nurse taught me that the holidays can be tremendously depressing and lonely for those who are missing someone they love. Poets and poetry can help fill that loneliness. I encourage you to look for ways to lift and cheer those who need it. And as you do, may you enjoy all the peace and kindness the holiday season sends your way.
Submissions are open from December 1 to December 10, as usual. No matter how many times you've submitted, it would still be to your advantage to check the guidelines. There is no suggested theme for January.
