Bio Note: With a Ph.D. in psychology and a never-ending love for language, writing, and my fellow humans, I’ve devoted the past twenty-five years to creating stories, poems, essays, novels, and plays, many of which are available on Amazon and on my website www.kennethweene.com. For those who want to know all there is to say about my approach to life, I style myself a Broody New Englander.
Shelling
The birds— sated by the morning tide— watch us pick among the empty shells their breakfast feast has left behind. Young— we picked our lovers so— demanding perfection, form and structure; Now— stooped and gnarled— we demand no less of these remains crunched beneath our shuffled feet.
