Bio Note: I studied history and philosophy in university, earning an MA in philosophy in 1980, and I enjoyed a long career as an historian, reviewer, copy editor and indexer. I began to write poetry in my fifties and have been published in Verse-Virtual (September 2014), Slant (Summer 2014) and Shot Glass Journal (January 2025).
Dominion House Romance
A ten-second affair, your tongue licking mine, my first and last love letter, which I've carried with me ever since that night when you seduced me in clouds of cigarette smoke. But I, unlettered in the rubrics of love, could not interpret your unwritten words.
