Bio Note: I began writing poetry two years ago, at nearly age 65, after retiring from a long career as an attorney. Just under 100 of my poems have been published or are forthcoming in more than a dozen print or online journals worldwide, which is almost as big of a shock as the day that my wife said “yes.”
Reunion Disillusion
Having spent a night together, His fond memories like new, He decided to discover If her thoughts were pleasant too. When he asked at a reunion She said: “Take no disrespect, But the evening that you mention I in no way recollect.”
Young Love Irony
She could not be more exquisite; He is loaded with intrigue. Yet he scarcely can approach her Deeming her far from his league. But with all the boys believing That for sure decline awaits, Almost no one asks her out And thus she hardly ever dates.
