Bio Note: I was born Down Under, which explains my line breaks and the way I pronounce ‘sorry’ and ‘tomorrow’. My latest collection, Attached, Poetry of Suffix, was just released from dancing girl press. I have five other chapbooks, two Pushcart Prize nominations, and quite a few chickens.
Eldorado Nights
The mourning doves have ceased their lamentation, the cholla’s piercing silhouette has faded behind an indigo curtain What is left of a busy day has settled onto a branch deep in the juniper Now the moon begins to oversee this high desert of eyeshine and coil, rustle and howl And over the hill, a fanfare of yip as the triumph of a kill crescendos into the paving of our dreams, bumpy paths of fang and footfall
Along the Santa Fe Trail
To get to Trader Joe’s, a quick jaunt along the wagon trail before we turn onto West Cordova to grab some baby carrots and cold brew coffee Then back into the wagon with kombucha, without oxen, honouring and respect settling in at each stoplight, glowing
