Bio Note: I am a retired geo-scientist and now engage in full-time writing bilingual (English and
Bengali) poetry and do book reviews and translation. Yet my first love is traveling and photography. Being a
Tiger fan, I love Jungle Safari too much. I have jointly edited the Indo-American Anthology Bridging Continents.
I have a few collections of poems to my credit.
Stillness
I wake up in sweat. A spherical shadow stands behind a lit brass lamp, the creaks and moans wait for now. The room lays in low light I talk to myself till all my words dry up. The windowsill where once the bluest air thinned to a lip waits for me to leave. There is rain on the courtyard filling up the copper vessel at the corner. Outside street lights come on one by one. Memories wave and fade in slow motion the images pile up on the wooden table. I walk up to the door the naked bulb sheds light on the terrace. Silence drops torn petals on the doormat.
