March 2021
Bio Note: It is about a year since I started to share my writings. This has been a very
important period of my life, of learning and joy, but mainly of making new friends through poetry and
Verse Virtual community. Bengaluru in India, where I currently live, is known for presenting all seasons
in a single day. The mornings begin as in winter, the afternoons grow warmer by the hour and it rains by
the evenings filling the sky with unbelievable colors.
Story of Another Day
A morning song The blinds lay open without pretense, A suggestion to waning moon crescent Of stealth and invasion, The night still Reluctant to unfolding of wings, Leaving the love trapped, bare And the soul waiting. It had stopped raining And the crowing had stopped too, The morning song now playing in the trees That continued to rain still. Afternoon aspirations Windows open to sunshine With occasional breeze, Voices outside heard in between, An afternoon like a stretched spring Turning moments of pride and dreams Melancholy and out of reach. The faces in lost shapes A little closer to heaven This could be the moment Of all that was meant To be the truth. The homecoming The bats hurry to roost By the homes and the trees That cast their shadows Upwards and smell of peach Until stirred by the breeze. I walk Past the fences and fields Among few flowers and fewer leaves On the branches naked and brief, Line of a moon, Single star to keep.
