Bio Note: I am a practicing attorney based in New York City. I took up writing poetry just a few years ago. Not having been formally trained in the art, I still have a great deal to learn. Several of my poems have been published in Verse-Virtual, one in the University of Chicago’s Memoryhouse Magazine, and one was adapted for a video presentation produced by Brazilian actor Gui Agustini.
In the Letting Go
Surrendering first to the colors of aging and soon enough delivered by the wind, there is no more graceful exit than a leaf letting go in the fall. For all its insignificance, there’s still much to take away. But I am neither moved nor envious, for I am not a leaf and not at all graceful in the letting go.
