Bio Note: An Arizona native, I focus on Sonoran deserts, people and politics, Guatemala and the Andes.

Left Unsaid

On sunlit days and moonlit calm
my shadows ever reach back to me,
sliding into my eyes and mind
	with wisps of memory bearing
	past folly to be contemplated.

Are they calling me to introspect,
	perhaps to self-impeach
	for deeds still undone --
	apologies and encouragements
	unsaid to friends who now
	or soon may be dead?
