Trojan Horse
Blind Homer knew that stealth and cunning will conquer where might fails. Troy’s citizenry, surviving the long siege, dragged the horse with its hidden soldiers into the heart of their city. Now, millennia later, another enemy has, by stealth, entered the city gates. Complacency and folly have dragged it in, unaware of the silent enemy inside. They pour forth, attacking where they will. It is folly to stand and fight. The only recourse is to flee, hide in isolation, hope not to be found. Our old complacencies are swept away. The numbers of the dead and dying mount. We, who thought our walls were high and safe, are changed, humbled before their might, helpless before their power.
