Pandemic Poems - APRIL 2020
Bio Note: I am a classical pianist with an interest in the interaction between text and
music. I prepare vocal recitals, learn opera and musical scores, and write my own poetry which has
been set by living composers for musical commissions. I am currently studying at the Eastman School
of Music and will receive my Master of Music degree in Collaborative Piano this May (although classes
are online for the rest of the semester, and I am back home in New Jersey for the next few months).
Author's Note: The poem, "Hunger" in the Time of a Pandemic, is part of a musical series called "Pandemic Poems and Pieces." Every week, composer Ben Morris writes a piano miniature inspired by my poetry and I record the piece at my in-home studio. You can follow along on YouTube
