Bio Note: I am a native New Yorker currently living in the Aegean port city of
Izmir (Smyrna) with my wife Asu. There are some who go around saying that Izmir was the hometown
of Homer, and depending on my mood and how the light falls, I at times go around saying the same.
My poetry has been published widely in journals including E-ratio, otata, and Otoliths;
and some of my micropoetry is featured in A New Resonance 11 (Red Moon Press, 2019).
Invocation
drawn up from the well dark deep spil- ling light from a star
Wading
if only listening its bird cries unhinge at the bill; & its swaying screen of grass thins into sea In response to a field recording made by Michelle Tennison.
Tuning in
to Neptune
What if speaking not from oneself but from the sea from its fishes faced in all its blue direction w/ the light of above come as far as a seabed or till no longer light----- would one even need to sound any conch would sound not travel in waves through & through the medium of blue? In response to a photograph taken by John Levy.
