Bio Note: I am the author of several poetry collections, most recently Mothershell from Kelsay Books. Several poems from Mothershell were featured poems in the May/June online issues of Spirituality & Health Magazine which gives me great joy. I love to think of poems reaching widely out into the world. . . wherever they are most needed.

In the Middle of the Pandemic Spring

Suddenly the mercy
of April speaks: come out,
come forth from your human
seclusion to witness
what’s happening here. With a blessed
space of six feet among you still,
listen for my lush-throated cardinals,
my robins and goldfinches in the branches
of bushes and trees on the verge.
Look down at my bluebells waving,
my daffodils sprung free from the dark into
an abiding, uncontamined air.
