Transcripts are Forever
A student comes into my office barely groomed hair reaching in waves toward the ceiling lights. The smell of dirty clothes and cigarettes settles in my nose. He tells me he was just diagnosed with ADHD so the one F and two D’s he received over the last three semesters should be erased from his transcripts. The classes with C’s or better can remain. Smirking at his arrogance I inform him erasing transcript grades is like aborting a child that has already been born. Unfortunately, it is not possible. His ADHD did not seem to be an issue for the dozen other classes he passed satisfactorily. He gets up to leave, calls me a dick under his breath. I ignore his insult and stare at my phone wondering how long it will take for his mother to call.
