February 2018
E D I T O R ' S N O T E
Dear Villagers,
In honor and memory of Dick Allen, I chose KARMA as the theme for this month. How sadly appropriate that this is the first issue in almost three years in which I haven't published Dick's poetry. Dick was a great member of our community. He was an avid correspondent with other V-V members. As a master of his craft, and he used his talent and his experience to help others. We miss his physical presence; I guess we'll have to satisfied with his ethereal one. It hurts, but we have so much to remember. The man is gone, but his poetry is still here.
The (optional) theme for March is PRAYER.
I'm getting more submissions than I can handle, so I'm changing the monthly open submission time from the first two weeks of every month to the first ten days of the month.
FROM NOW ON, I WILL ACCEPT SUBMISSIONS ONLY DURING THE FIRST TEN DAYS OF THE MONTH PRECEDING THE ISSUE MONTH -- NOT EARLIER OR LATER.
I don't like this either, but I'm afraid our village is becoming a city.
Have a fine February dear friends.
Sincerely yours,
Firestone
