I'm a retired college English teacher living in Newton, Massachusetts and concentrating on translating classic Latin poets such as Ovid, Virgil, Horace, and Catullus, and the German-language poet Rilke (Amazon.com can provide all the gory details). I have managed to finagle my way into the Hudson, Sewanee, and Antioch Reviews, and have won a number of prizes I'm way too modest to mention--except for my four-time championship on Jeopardy!

Remission Like steel wool batting clumped to grey, Dark cumuli were threatening to win. Then something broke, as sun came streaking in, And archipelagoed by Honolulu blue, The clouds re-formed to make my day The day I had this necessary news of you. I wouldn't have it any other way. |
