I am a twenty-one year old English major at Birmingham-Southern College pursuing a career in writing and academia. I enjoy sports, reading, rock guitar, and above all, writing. I have been published in Sick Lit Magazine, 221 Magazine, and The Copperfield Review in prose and Transcendent Zero Press’s Harbinger Asylum issue in poetry. Additionally, my novel was considered in the First Annual Young National Writers Contest (2011).
Passersby
Passersby, brisk, pensive, plain,
Nameless nomadic souls in perpetual migration.
Darting eyes and sidelong looks of suspicion,
Searching each other, searching for a cure.
A human, a cathedral of time-wrought glory,
A myriad of memory, inaccessible, silent stories trapped within.
They pass by, look fleetingly at me and then away,
Eyes evolving with the pain of each subsequent day.
