How To Kiss A Girl
I don’t think Mom knew I took
her girlfriend-advice for my brother
and used it for myself.
I don’t think she knew
I was stockpiling data for the boy inside me.
She sat him down and said
"Son, make sure when you kiss a girl
you tilt your head. The man is the one
who tilts their head... lean in softly
and then touch your lips softly to hers."
and secretly I thought,
my god the romance of that moment
and how beautiful that moment would someday be for me
and I took notes.
and I’ve always tilted my head.
