Gulf War

The war begins right after
a TV commercial for Advil.

Reporters in Baghdad jut
their microphones out

the hotel window to catch
the pops of anti-aircraft rounds.

In the wings, a hooded
executioner rolls his drum

for CNN to show its logo
and yoyo round the world:

Baghdad, Washington, London,
Tel Aviv, Baghdad again.

"We'll be back with more right after this:"

Chevrolet Caprice, Dodge Dynasty,
Dentu-foam and Chloraseptic Spray.

Pentagon officials praise
the "surgical strike...successful

campaign...damage achieved."
By morning two planes are missing

and two pilots two pilots two pilots
