I live on an island called Saipan (I swear I didn’t misspell Spain), which is barely even a dot on the map but I dream of exploring the world one day, jumping from one dot to another. I enjoy writing from a stream of consciousness constantly and for some diabolical reason, I also enjoy math. A lot.

Editor's Note: In answer to my question about how she heard of V-V, Lilly wrote: I am currently a junior in high school and one of the assignments given was to find a poem from a publisher and write a review on it. Somehow, I miraculously ended up choosing a poem from Verse-Virtual and wrote a review on it. Another assignment given was to actually send our own work to publishers. I couldn't help but make Verse-Virtual one of them. And I'm glad I did. Thank you very much again for taking my poetry into consideration!

Luster
Be a diamond
And outshine
Do not worry
About what others may say
About losing your shine
Even in your darkest moments
When your diamond becomes dull
A quick boost
A simple polish
Each time
Is all it takes
To bring you back
Brighter than ever
Those Three Special Words
We all want to deliver
Those three special words
That burn in your throat
As you struggle to keep them
In but you just want them out.
The thought of them
Fires you up
And you feast on adrenaline.
They, alone,
Can make you feel
This fire.
The day will come
When you can scream
“I HATE YOU!”
And no longer smolder
In their filth.
A Last Also Means A First
As your last day approaches,
You say your last good-bye
To the people you’ve come to grow
And develop with
Throughout the years of learning
And winning
And losing
But this last good-bye is not a loss
For it is a win
That you’ve completed your story
And are on to the next one
Back to where it all began
On the first page.
