July 2015
Last minute training for NYC Olympic Triathlon in July, and starting to teach “Easy Yoga” or chair yoga to seniors at a local library. An homage to Elizabeth Bishop’s "In the Waiting Room" has been accepted by Negative Capability, and Hippocampus Magazine just posted a short creative non-fiction piece on lessons learned, or not learned, from aging.
On Hold
I have not arrived as of yet,
but am expected at Gate 13b.
I have not died as of yet,
but was at the bedside of Berta who left Hamburg.
I have walked by Beatrice’s chapel in Florence,
yet still taste the fresh fish
& lime in Zihuatanejo with the boy outside in a grand mal seizure.
Few of us will ever see the very edge
of the Milky Way, but we all know, don’t we,
that it’s lonely there, with no sign-in guest book.
We do go over & over what matters,
every day, re-inventing as we go,
without noticing the quiet rising & falling.
