August 2015
I was born in Brooklyn, New York, and fell in love with poetry when I was nine years old. My first publication was in Young America Sings at fourteen. It has been a long and wonderful journey. After retiring from the advertising business, I have moved to upstate New York near the Albany area. The natural beauty of the area has given me a great deal of inspiration to continue my voyage through the world of literature.
Virtual Love
A
long
slim
poem
full of hyperbole
and alliteration drifted
into the wrong email box.
There she met an erudite
rich text format manual.
They became attached.
Her fleeting metaphors
lifting his technical jargon.
They were a word couple
spinning through cyberspace
giddy with inappropriate syllables.
Computer Game
I just click the awesome icon.
My mouse scurries in a manic race
to discover words or match jewels.
Tiles glow…a beaming box of eye candy
to pick and nibble as my score grows.
All the petty slogs and limps of
this withered day are beaten back.
I love my snazzy game name and avatar.
My world sits inside this small square.
I am winning.
O Awesome Muse Man
You of wondrous long hair
and haunting green eyes.
Why can’t you help me
with my household tasks
become my personal assistant
my housekeeper, my consort?
Shop, cook, handle my calendar
wash dishes, floors, type for me too.
O Muse marry me, gratifying all
my amorous needs. Especially my
sensuous wants… fulfilling all my fantasies.
Be awesome. Take me to some posh
restaurants. Let’s do something flamboyant
after jetting to fine cultural activities.
Instantly google all my queries.
Don’t forget to publish me worldwide
in hardcover, paperback, and electronically—
after procuring excellent translators.
Find some adoring relatives, perhaps
plan an intergalactic extravaganza?
Hurry, please.
