Pandemic Poems - APRIL 2020
Author's Note: With all our social distancing comes thoughts about all the distances we suffer, of space, time, and of the heart.
We were sisters once but a door closed in my heart, I heard the lock catch. Now you will always be the one I left behind. I don’t know how it became impossible to go on together. I looked up and we were already on separate trains moving fast in different directions. I don’t really want to see you again, but I am curious about your life, and wonder if you sometimes are curious about mine. We used to tell each other everything, and no one listens now. No one can listen like you did.
