I am a retired Librarian who cannot stand to be retired. I make paper cutouts in between volunteering, and some of my paper cutouts have been on book covers. I am a storyteller who tells fairy tales, myths, and children's stories from memory.
Surrender
season after heartbreak season
a curtain of butterflies lift
from milkweed
like a cotton dress
fluttering on a wash line
they turn
like a steering wheel
into the direction of dreams
tracing the contour of wind
heading to where
we cannot go
